Fenway Fan

Designer | Illustrator | Multimedia Artis

Fenway Fan grew up in China, but in her early twenties, she moved to the United States to pursue her dreams of becoming an acclaimed artist.  Fenway received her Master of Fine Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) School of Film and Animation.  Her thesis film, Handi & V—a UPA style 2D animated short film about time capsules and finding a lost memory—won many applause and awards in film festivals.  Additionally, while Fenway was pursuing her Master’s, she interned with Curious Pictures, a production house located in New York City, where she was a Preproduction Designer who set the overall style keys for two animated commercials.  After graduated from RIT, Fenway worked with the noteworthy Tee Bosutow, son of United Productions of America (UPA) founder Stephen Bosutow, on his UPA documentary film as Lead Character Designer.  Shortly thereafter, Fenway moved to Florida where she caught the attention of Disney, and was hired as a Graphic Designer for Disney Theme Park Merchandise, creating unique designs for Tsum Tsums, Vinylmations, pins, home décor, plushes, packagings and style guides for Disney. Simultaneously, she works on major projects for Shanghai Disney Resorts and was invited to showcase original art pieces at WonderGround Gallery in both Disneyland and WDW. Fenway has continued to create products not only for Disney, but also for Hasbro and its best-selling lines, including Mr.Potato Head, My Littlest Pets Shop, Hanazuki, Baby Alive, Marvel and Transformers.

Fenway’s whimsical and colorful artistic style distinguish her designs from others.  She has received many accolades including winning Wieden+Kennedy London’s Nokia “Hand Shake” Design Competition, winning the Silver Prize at Cut&Paste’s International Digital Design Tournament Shanghai Championship, her thesis film won 1st place at the My Hero International Film Festival and was presented at more than 20 film festivals and events.  Her artwork has been featured in the Creative Talent Network Animation Expo, Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, Disney’s WonderfGround Gallery, and among other reputable galleries.  She has been interviewed by Voice of America, The China Press, Orlando TV and her work has appeared in everyone of the Disney Parks around the world.

Fenway Fan is currently based in Boston, MA, where she conceptualizes and develops original artistic projects for her clients via IOO Studio. Motivated by giving back to the industry, and provide insight for the next generation of artists, Fenway recently started teaching art at a local school.
